Family time

(NB: I know ^^ is a LONG way from being a decent picture in terms of quality (iPhone pics for ya!) and its out of frame and we look a bit half asleep but its one of my favourite family photos, especially Orans Comical face :o))

So we have implemented more Family Time as between me and hubby both working full time and me working shifts it was pretty rare and I think everyone has loved it, well I know I have, and I'm pretty sure Oran did to, guess that just leaves the hubbies opinion......

We go to a place near our house called "St Ives" its got a big lake where you can feed the ducks & Geese, loads of woodland for walks, a quiet bird sanctuary bit where we saw a woodpecker the other day and Barrie informs me its really rare to see a woodpecker in the UK these days, and then its also got an awesome park for Oran to play in, we have started going there in an evening after tea for a walk round the lake and a run about in the park to tire the whirlwind out.

Check out how excited he is feeding the Ducks and Canadian Geese as the Geese were taking it right out his hand

We then FINALLY got around to putting the primer on the 2 sets of Chest of Draws I got from my parents months and months ago, I had finished sanding them a few months ago but never found time to sand them but Oran wanted to help me and Barrie offered to help to.  When there all finished (we just need to put on some new handles and were all done) I will do its own little post of the transformation.  Anyway here is Oran enjoying himself helping Primer the draws

Next we ended up going to sunny shagpool.....I should correct that to Blackpool for 2 days and a night, just the 3 of us to get a little break.  My god that place never changes, I loved being with Barrie and Oran on our own with no interruptions but that place is just...urgh, I don't even have any more words to describe it really, except EVERYTIME we go, we vow never again, yet every few years we might find ourself there for a day, why? Who knows!  We all had fun though, especially Oran and that was one of the goals, we wanted to get him on some rides to prepare him a little way towards Florida in Nov as he hasn't really EVER been on a "ride".  Every ride was the same response "no mummy I don't want to go on it, I'm scared, I really really don't want to go on it" bless him, we talked him in to every ride though "please mummy/daddy really wants to go on it but is scared and only you will be able to protect me"...."ok mummy/daddy I'll come on it to protect you....but I'm really scared" then EVERY ride he was on "mummy I love it lets go on again" even on the massive waterslide in the "sandcastle" water park that he was petrified to go on was met with screams of "again, again, I love it" so I think as long as we coax him, we will be OK in Florida with the rides.......wonder if can I coax him on Aerosmith's rock and rollercoaster haha.

Sand castles on the beach with daddy (a very windy and cold beach ha)

Were now home, chilled out and unfortunatley I'm back at work on the night shift all weekend untill Monday night which means I'm missing out on a weekend with my 2 favourite boys which is pants, but for the time being, I shouldn't moan as at least I have a job and the recession hasn't hit me with redundancy!

July....well

Wow 6th June was my last post, now is that cause Ive been soooo busy since then that I have only just posted now, or becuase ive done nothing of interest, probably the latter!!

I have come to the conclusion that my blogging abilities are limited....well no they are infact non existent so I may wang this blog off and start again, or I may continue this but actually start doing it properly instead of giving it up as a bad job.

I'll have a think about it and get back to  you......probably in about 4 weeks.....maybe.

Pointless much?

Well I just thought I'd do a really pointless update "because thats just how I roll" (isn't that the type of thing the kids of today say?! I don't know @ 29 i'm getting on now and I'm not "with" the kids chat these days, Oh Jeez I'm turning in to my mother, somebody save me, save me now!)

So Last night shift, its 4.35am and im eagerly awating 7am to arrive, Ive hurt my back which is not a good sign, its really aching and sitting in this office chair all night has not helped one bit! When I get up tomorrow and go and get the dude from the mother in laws I think I will take my camera and we will go to Roberts Park which is a park by us the council have just spent 4.5 million renovation and its supposed to be pretty good, I "THINK" alot of the schools are back tomorrow so it should be alot quieter, im going to stick the DSLR on manual and practice and shoot shoot shoot, as apparenlty thats how I need to learn.

Oh look its 4.38am now its taken me all of 3 minutes to update this....it really did not pass the time!

Anyone for a BBQ

Well although I spent most of the day in bed after finishing work at 7am, when I finally got up at 3pm the sun was shining, my hubby & Son had gone to his mums for a BBQ so I arrived about 4pm (and the cheeky bugger gave me a few lines about how I should have been there earlier, this coming from the guy who has to be in bed 10pm SHARP on a work night (if not earlier) and have 9 hours sleep minimum, preaching that me having 7 hours was too much).  Anyway BBQ was flowing kids were playing and all was fun until it was time for me to come to work again, rubbish (did I mention that I HATE nights?)

There is one thing that really made me smile today (apart from Oran but he does that every day so it doesn’t really count) it was a little parcel that arrived in the post from a friend of Mine Emma, it was a gift for Oran, he tore it open excitedly and found a little sock monkey named Bertie (he wanted to rename it Jedi Poo Poo head but I convinced him Bertie was easier to say!).  Emma is a really lovely person to just randomly send this in the post for Oran and it really did cheer me up no end, she is super kind, and I love her.  (shameless plug here but her blog can be found at http://madebyemcouk.blogspot.com/ and she sells all her stuff and its all wicked...Go buy it > NOW > GO GO GO)

Anyway here are a few pictures of Oran & Bertie

So Just a few things we have been up to since I last updated back in march....take from it what you will!!

My Big boy turned 3....and discovered the DS and we now have a constant daily winge of "muuummmyy im stuck please help me I caaannnnttt dddoooo iiittttt"

I made Oran a Lightening McQueen cake for his Birthday which I was very proud of!

We had a night out and decided (like you do after a few drinks of the alcoholic kind) to go bowling, us girlies had no socks but the bowling alley kindly provided us with these "condom socks" which I have to say were the worse things Ive ever put on my feet and I think perhaps an actual condom may have been better!
Oran decided his new favourite things were Ladybugs so we had one painted on his face, the day I was wearing white linen pants, you can imagine that didnt end well...I think he knew what he was planning all along, check out his evil glare!

the forgetting part

So I forgot about this blog again! I can't see this whole new blogging world I've found and me getting on too well, considering I actually have a memory like a sieve! I did used to have a really good memory, when I got pregnant it buggered off and never returned!

Anyway probably done you all a favour not updating as I have not really done much of anything of much interest really so I guess I spared you from being bored to death!

(Side note : What’s the crack with this Justin Beiber kid, he is RUBBISH, why has he become sooooo popular, he is on Viva Hits right now and I’m just like whhhaaatt you going to do when your voice breaks kid, oh and read a world atlas, find out where Germany is!)

So when I finish this set of nights (have I mentioned how I HATE nights?) Im going to have to sand down the other chest of draws, go to B&Q and get some paint and re-paint them. I’m going to give something different a try, which may not work so I may have to re-sand and go with my original idea of just painting it white, my funky ideas usually turn out to be crap so just prepare yourself for some boring pictures of plain white chest of draws!

I’m thinking I'd love to learn to stitch, the only problems I see with that are the fact that I have enough trouble fitting extra things in to my life as it is, with juggling a full time job, 3 year old, side line of cake making business & keeping "house" oh and the fact my wonderful husband has put a dent in my spending, as I need (need means want for the purposes of this blog) a new mixer for the cakes, a new Netbook as my lappy is rubbish these days and a sewing machine oh and some new lenses for my DSLR and apparently I don’t “need” any of them. Oh talking of photography, I really need to get that bloody camera out more and practice I always forget to take it anywhere with me, I have a new awesome lens (a nifty Fifty) but its not AF so I need to practice with that, but Orans decided that now being 3 he is a big boy and too busy to be standing round for photos for mummy, hmm need to work on that one as he is my only subject!

Anyway I think I have rambled on enough for now, I shall be back in a few days!

Whoops a daisy

Oh well I forgot about this didn't I. I knew I wouldn't beable to keep a decent update on it because quite frankly my memory is worse than I fish with amnesia!!

I must say though due to this blog and realising how terribly boring my life actually is I have done a fair bit since the last update.....nothing major or life changing but myself & Oran have visited a fair few places and we even allowed the grumpy old man who resides with us to come sometimes!! We did the farm a few times, walks in the woods, tropical world in Leeds & iceskating....

I have a busy few weeks coming up as well, I have a craft swap on a fourm I belong to so have to make some nice things for a lovley lady, I have 2 chest of draws & a bedside cabinet to restore, a dora cake for a 3rd birthday, then a buzz/toystory/lightening mcqueen/tom & jerry cake to make when Oran actually makes up his mind which one he wants and stops crying about not getting all 3!! Then 3 weeks of family birthdays taking us up to end of April pphheewwww!!

Oh I've also bought Oran some rollerblades, dug out my old agressive skates & ice hockey boots to and I'm gonna teach the dude how to blade & skate cause I'm just so cool!

Oooo I had a haircut as well ....sseexxxyyy.....well not quite but it's aiiight

So I'll sign off for now and try and remember to update and take lots of photos now I can do this on my phone!!!

I hope you know!!

I hope you know this is only getting updated daily because I’m at work, clearly by "work" I mean sat in a building getting paid to....well I best not finish that sentence!
Well another boring day today. I got up, went and fetched Oran and we went to Asda for some milk & bread....£12 later we left, how the hell can a £1.27 loaf & 2 x 87p 2 pints of milk cost me £12.68, anyone care to explain?!?!? I really hate popping in to the supermarket for "a few bits" as I always end up spending more than a few pounds especially when I’ve got the little guy with me "mummy I want this magazine ppwweeeaassee" I respond with the age old phrase I NEVER though I would hear myself say, the same response I used to get from MY mother "No, not today, they cost a fortune & are a waste of money" que a paddy which resembles something like that advert where the toddler is about to throw a paddy so the mother throws herself on the floor & throws a paddy instead to "nip it in the bud"....except instead of wishing to get carted of the funny farm I use the other method of averting the paddy, giving him what he wants, que spoilt brat and expensive "few bits" trip but rather un-embarrassing, which lets face it is always a plus! I did find the man I saw getting chased through the shop by staff rather amusing, especially when the tackled him to the ground, apparently he is the latest stalker of some of the checkout girls, who would of thought being an Asda Checkout girl would have such celebrity status worthy of Stalkerville!!

Once home from the Expensive trip of doom it was time for mummy to become the human trampoline/climbing frame/weight lifter (with Oran being the weight)& finally cowboys & Indians.  Then it was time to make yet another unsuccessful meal, I had left over’s from last night which was fine, I made the boys Sausages, Beans & mash except the hubby ended up with Mash & sausage cause apparently you can't put Mash & beans on the same plate, Who thinks like that?!?!? We "discussed" about this not being normal, him arguing it was & me telling him he was wrong, he still hasnt learnt after 10 years Im always right, I don't think he will ever learn!

So far at work we have NO FARTING whhoooppp.  I can breathe, its so fresh in here! Hopefully it will continue until 3am at which point I’ve blagged an early finish as I have promised to take Oran to the Farm.  We were supposed to go last week until he got ill and I told him we could go this week instead, he has asked me EVERY morning "we going to the farm today" which has erupted in tears while getting dressed when I said I would be choosing bed instead!
